Consultation began this week on possible uses for £140,000 secured by Haringey Council for the Campsbourne estate from the New River Village development.

Smoking Fined slapped on Social club

Haringey's first prosecution under the Smokefree legislation introduced in July has seen the owner of a Social Club being fined £100 with £452 costs.

On 25 February. Haringey magistrates found Ergum Kamal, manager of the Europa Sportsman Café, 451 West Green Road, London N15 3PL guilty on two counts of failing to prevent people smoking under section 8 of the Health Act 2006.

Art Galleries in Haringey

Haringey has a number of art galleries. Alexandra Gallery is in the grounds of the Alexandra Palace Garden Centre.

Also, Wood Green and Hornsey Libraries and Bruce Castle have their own galleries. These libraries host a variety of exhibitions, including the successful annual Haringey Literature Festival, which includes readings, poetry events and workshops.

Update on parkland walk proposals

Residents are being invited to give their views on the second part of Haringey Council's proposals to improve the longest nature reserve in London.

The council has launched a public consultation on the plans for the northern stretch of Parkland Walk, which runs from Muswell Hill Road to Muswell Hill, N10.

Staff at Haringey Council's Tottenham Green Leisure Centre are celebrating after being awarded a prestigious quality mark.

Assessors from Quest - the UK quality standard for the sport and leisure industry - have commended the quality of management at the leisure centre, praising the council's good customer relations and development of services.
